There are few treks as satisfying to serious hikers as England’s classic “Coast-to-Coast” trail, considered by many to be one of the top ten hikes in the world! MTS is the only North American adventure travel company to follow all 192 miles of the original “West-to-East” route scouted by Alfred Wainwright, who first blazed the trail in the 1970s. We asked our local guides for their insights into this incredible hike.
Ken Leghorn was an Alaskan adventure pioneer and co-founder of Alaska Discovery, a key part of Mountain Travel Sobek's heritage. As well as helping to launch the Alaska Wilderness Recreation and Tourism Association and spearheading numerous conservation efforts in Alaska, he led trips for over four decades in the most remote wilderness areas that North America has to offer. He loved “getting people out there” to explore and, above all, was a friend to everyone.
