Meet Your Presenter: Ívar Finnbogason
For years Ivar was the most active ice climber in Iceland, racking up hard ascents and first ascents. Recently, Ivar has turned his attention from climbing and to skiing and ski-touring in the winter and mountain biking in the summer. He has led ski-touring - Vatnajökull expeditions, hiking trips, mountain biking and over 70 summits of Hvannadalshnúkur. Additionally, his ice climbing experience includes Gunnbjörn expeditions in Greenland – Mt. Blanc, Mt. Elbrus, Mt. Vinson in Antarctica. Ivar also manages and develops the mountaineering and climbing courses and helps with guide training. Ívar is fluent in German and is actually famous in Germany as can be seen on Olli beim Eyjafjallajoekull & Ollis Gletscherwanderung in addition he has appeared on many other international TV shows.
