Marine turtles feed primarily on seaweeds and may spend long periods of time under water - especially when they are inactive. They are, however, not totally adapted to aquatic life and must come to land to lay their eggs. Nesting usually occurs at night and all you may see in the morning is a trail to and from a depression in the sand. © Bob Carter
