You’ll also stroll around the island of Brac, the highest point in the Adriatic, and home to numerous civilizations dating back to the Paleolithic era. And on the mainland you’ll immerse yourself in the diverse and vibrant cities of Dubrovnik and Split. Day 1
Arrive in Dubrovnik, Croatia, and explore this great walled city.
Day 2
Stroll along the famed city walls in Dubrovnik’s Old Town, a World Heritage Site, before transferring to the charming coastal town of Makarska.
Day 3
A day of exploration in Biokovo Nature Park, a paradise for birders and botanists. The vistas are spectacular, with long views over the ocean toward the Italian coastline.
Day 4
Hike in the Cetina River Valley through fragrant orchards and to the crystal clear waters of the Cetina River. Here you’ll take a leisurely boat tour through steep canyon walls to Omis, where the emerald green river meets the deep blue Adriatic.
Day 5
Ferry to the Island of Brac, the largest in the Dalmatian region. After a stroll on the beach, you’ll hike up through vineyards to the Dragon’s Cave, an ancient refuge for hermits and religious exiles. Return via the quaint village of Murvica.
Day 6
More exploration on Brac, including the 16th-century Blaca hermitage, and Bol, the island’s oldest coastal habitation and once a mighty stronghold for many years.
Day 7
Ferry to Split, then tour the ruins of Diocletian’s Palace, the stones of which were quarried and imported from the Island of Brac. Afternoon walk up Marjan hill for stunning views of Split and the cool waters beyond.
Day 8
Depart Split.

Upon confirmation (usually within four business days), we will send you a packet with all the information you need to get ready for your trip, including clothing recommendations, suggested reading lists, and other details.
Approximately 30 days before your departure, we'll send you detailed, step-by-step instructions, with emergency contact numbers, a detailed map, and other important information. Upon arrival at your destination, you will be met by your in-country host who will help orient you and describe what to expect in the week to come.
