 Itinerary: Adventures in CroatiaDay 1 - Arrive in Zagreb, Croatia. Day 2 - Hike in Risnjak National Park, a rugged area with many fascinating caves and karst formations. Continue to Rovinj. Day 3 - Tour the beautiful Istrian Peninsula, including a paddle in the clear blue Adriatic along the Istrian Coast. You’ll also explore Motovun, home to vineyards that produce the famed Istrian wines, teran and malvasia. Day 4 - Enjoy an easy to moderate paddling trip on the rivers of Gorski Kotar. Continue to Plitivice Lakes National Park, a World Heritage Site. Day 5 - Explore the famous Plitvice area, where 16 lakes are connected by cascading travertine waterfalls. Day 6 - Depending on water levels, kayak or raft the Zrmanja and Krupa Rivers, then drive to Skradin, a small town at the edge of Krka River National Park. Day 7 - Hike along the Krka River and its seven dramatic travertine waterfalls, followed by visits to many of the park’s other waterfalls and monasteries. Transfer to the old coastal town of Trogir. Day 8 - Visit beautiful Brac Island, with its carved hillside terraces of olive groves and vineyards, and hike among the ruins of old settlements to the summit of Vidova Gora (7,388’). Ferry to Split. Day 9 - Hike in Biokovo Nature Park, where the Kotsina Botanical Garden has preserved much of the floral diversity found in this lovely land of steep mountains and blossoming meadows. Afternoon drive to Dubrovnik. Day 10 - Paddle to Kolocep, the most exciting and dramatic island in the entire Elafites archipelago.
