CALIFORNIA: California Coastal Adventure
New Trip! The coastline of northern California near San Francisco is spectacular, with endless
curving beaches and wild rocky shores, meadows filled with wildflowers, and expansive grassy
hillsides. Bobcat, fox, and elk inhabit the coast's wrinkled terrain, while harbor seals, sea otters,
and gray whales cruise its ragged shoreline. Heading inland, you'll find the celebrated wine
country of the Napa Valley, renowned for its signature Cabernets and other fine varietals.
This is MTS's own local playground, and we decided it was high time we
introduced you to our favorite haunts! You'll hike the best trails of the Golden Gate National
Recreation Area, Muir Woods National Monument, and Point Reyes National Seashore; learn the
gentle art of sea kayaking at Tomales Bay; take a leisurely vineyard-to-vineyard spin on the
country lanes of the Napa Valley (sampling some wonderful wines as you go); and cap it all off
with a breathtaking catamaran sail on San Francisco Bay, with tremendous views of the city
skyline and the Golden Gate Bridge, the iconic gateway to the golden land we call home.

National Seashore

redwoods in their natural environment, then hike the Dipsea and Coastal Trails, noted for their
ocean views, luxuriant vegetation, and tumbling waterfalls.

variety of plant and animal life and one of Bay Area residents' favorite destinations for great
weekend hikes. Overnight in the nearby town of Olema.
Day 4 - Short early morning hike to view tule elk in the Tule Elk Preserve on Tomales Point, where approximately 500 tule elk graze freely on open grasslands and

small town in the Napa Valley known for its natural hot springs, where you can have an
optional spa treatment or massage at our comfortable resort.

several family-owned wineries and tasting wines along the way.
