SWITZERLAND: Around the Matterhorn
New Trip!
Want some major bragging rights? Imagine circumnavigating the Matterhorn (14,782')—the crown jewel of the Swiss Alps—on foot! And taking in the grand sight of pristine snows against an audaciously blue sky, the icy glint of glaciers, and the extraordinary spectacle of up to 50 other 4,000-meter monarchs of the alpine world, well, that’s just icing on the cake! This exhilarating new adventure is perfect for those who like a little challenge in their life: you’ll tackle many a steep pass (nine, to be exact), traverse two sprawling glaciers in the company of a licensed mountain guide, and encounter rugged rocky trails frequented by ibex and chamois. And the wildflowers are tremendous! On some days, you’ll need to carry your overnight belongings, as you’ll stay from time to time in remote mountain refuges where you’ll meet hikers from all over the world. You won’t find this itinerary offered by any other U.S. tour operator!
