SCOTLAND: Hiking the Scottish Highlands
The welcome mat is always out in the Scottish Highlands, land of purple heather, secluded glens, and ancient clan castles. And a warm greeting you'll receive from its friendly people as you explore its breathtaking wild beauty on invigorating hikes and rambles along the renowned West Highland Way.
With trip leader David Lunn, whose remarkable knowledge of English and Scottish history makes the trip come alive, you'll "take the high road" to the "bonnie banks" of Loch Lomond, near where Rob Roy once dwelled, up Ben Nevis (4,406'), Britain's highest mountain, and through the remote and ruggedly beautiful Glencoe area. Like Robert Burns, you'll soon sing "My heart's in the highlands, wherever I go." And the capper? Relaxing at a pub at the end of the day with a pint of cold cider or beer!
