SWITZERLAND: Walking Swiss Villages
You don't have to be a hardcore hiker to appreciate all that Switzerland has to offer. We've designed this adventure for the traveler who wants to enjoy all the consummate views, fine accommodations, and delectable food and wine the Swiss Alps are known for - but at a relaxed, leisurely pace.
You'll still discover it on foot (because, after all, that's the best way to experience the mountains), but the hikes are easier, with Switzerland's cable cars, gondolas, and cog trains making short work of the hard ascents and descents. This allows you more time to explore the towns and villages and soak up the alpine atmosphere of this very special corner of the world. A bit of well-earned sweat during the day, clean sheets and eiderdown comforters at night! Who would have thought a hike could be so civilized?
