New Hiking Trip for 2024: Argentina & Chile Patagonia Luxury Hiking

“Patagonia is the farthest place to which man walked from his place of origins. It is therefore a symbol of his restlessness. From its discovery it had the effect on the imagination of something like the moon, but in my opinion more powerful.”

From the remote grasslands to the jagged Andean Peaks to the calving glaciers, it’s hard to imagine a place more powerful or perfectly situated for a hiking trip. Join us at the end of the world for a rugged and epic adventure through the heart of Patagonia’s wild landscape. Start off with a trip to El Chalten, a tiny (and relatively new) Andean town wedged in the shadow of the Andes. Hike high into the alpine to experience pristine views of Cerro Torre and catch a glimpse of the famous, but illusive, Mount Fitz Roy. Back in town, feed your hiker’s hunger with mouth-watering alfajores at La Nana bakery or savor tapas and Argentinian wine at the quaint La Vineria. End the evening at your boutique luxury mountain retreat—perched above the town.

Next, venture to the town of Calafate, basecamp to the famous Perito Moreno Glacier, where you’ll stay at EOLO lodge, an exclusive Relais & Chateau property overlooking the vast steppe and the Andes range. Visit the mind-blowing Perito Moreno Glacier, and return to town for an afternoon at leisure. Don’t forget to try Argentina’s legendary calafate berry ice-cream—a lick of which (local legend) guarantees your return to Calafate.

Lastly, head to Patagonia’s prized gem, Torres Del Paine National park, where you’ll stay in luxury inside the park and hike hard miles to stunning alpine view points. Take in the magnificent views of the granite Torres Towers, tramp through remote terrain, and marvel at stunning waterfalls. The wilds of Patagonia await.

New Trips for 2024: Utah Bryce Canyon & Zion National Parks Hiking

family on a guided hiking tour in Utah's Zion National Park in USA

There’s something grounding and spiritual about hiking in the Southwest. Join us as we explore an iconic American landscape of river-carved canyons, sandstone hoodoos and towering mesas. Uncover the beauty of the lesser-known Snow Canyon State Park and then head to Bryce Canyon National Park, where we warm up with a hike on the Queen’s Garden and Navajo Loop trails.

Inhale the vanilla-scented Ponderosa Pines and take in the sight of orange hoodoos as the sun descends. Later, explore Rainbow Point (located at the end of the park road) for an 8-mile hike through lush forests and colorful sandstone formations (once completely submerged underwater). By night, enjoy the silence and stars above Bryce Canyon Lodge, ditching light pollution and experiencing the magic of a certified dark-sky zone.

The second half of our journey takes us to Zion, Utah’s first national park. There, we pull on specialized river boots and embark on a different sort of trek, wading through the cool waters of the Virgin River to explore a water-carved canyon called The Narrows. When the summer sun peaks, we head into town for downtime. Opt to enjoy Springdale’s quaint shops (such as the Worthington Art Gallery), indulge in an iced-mate-latte at Cafe Soleil, or soak your tired feet in the cool Virgin River. This spiritual, red-rock adventure is an American classic and is not-to-be-missed.

New Hiking Trips for 2024: Peru Cordillera Huayhuash Trekking

group of trekkers hiking Cordillera Huayhuash in Peru, South America

Hiking the Cordillera Huayhuash is both arduous and awe-inspiring. Glacier-cloaked spires, remote tracks, thin air, gauchos, hot springs and high-mountain passes dot the landscape. It’s a place that feels both unimaginably alive and also impossibly remote. Begin your journey by acclimatizing in Huaraz, where you’ll visit pre-Incan heritage sites and test out your hiking legs on the Cordillera’s more moderate 12,000ft peaks. Then, embark on a remarkable route through the world’s second highest mountain range—camping beneath the stars and enjoying hot meals prepared by your guides every night. Ascend eight mountain passes over 15,000 feet, and soothe your tired feet in natural thermal springs.

Sip mate from your tent as the magic of the Southern sky reveals itself over the jagged peaks at night. Once back in town, toast to the journey with a Peruvian Pisco Sour and new friends.

A lone hiker exploring the magical Stórurð valley, East Fjords, Iceland

With outstanding hikes and surprises around every turn, Iceland is a destination that should top every hiker’s bucket list. From the legendary glacial lagoons to the towering waterfalls, geysers, lavender fields, Icelandic horses, volcanoes, fairy homes and therapeutic hot springs, there is no shortage of beauty in this isolated country of contrasts.

Start your journey with a night in the colorful town of Reykjavik at Fosshotel. If time permits, don’t forget to order a classic Icelandic hotdog, or sneak out early the next morning to secure a crumbly croissant at Sandholt Bakery (you’ll smell the deliciousness before you see it).

Kick off your hiking adventure with a scenic flight to the eastern region of Iceland (far from the main tourist track). Trek from hut-to-hut along the remote Víknaslóðir trail, navigating alongside rhyolite mountainscapes, black sand beaches and verdant green pastures. Sleep in rustic, but cozy Scandinavian huts and fall asleep to legends of the huldufólk (the hidden people of Iceland).

After completing your hut-to-hut hike, head south along the coast pausing in Höfn for an evening of harbor views and fresh seafood. Later, don a glacier suit and hop aboard a zodiac for the life-changing opportunity to motor past Jokulsarlon Lagoon’s glacial outflow of bergs (you’ll want your camera out for this). Finally, hike in Skaftafell National Park and hit the geothermal highlights of the Ring Road as you make your way back to Reykjavik. Cap your epic adventure off with a therapeutic soak in the geothermal-fed Blue Lagoon waters – toasting to new friends and stories that won’t soon be forgotten.
