It was in Alps of western Europe that the sport of mountaineering was born, so it's only natural that you'd find us hiking these magnificent high trails. But there's a softer side to western Europe travel that we love just as well: dusty green olive orchards covering gently rolling hillsides, misty mornings in peaceful valleys, and tiny hamlets populated by a scant few families, where traditions thrive despite the influence of the world outside. And though we seem to find ourselves returning to the Alps again and again, we are irretrievably smitten with the charms of the other parts of this varied and wonderful continent.
Certainly there are plenty of operators offering plenty of western Europe tours, but where they tend to concentrate on viewing the sights from a motor coach, we prefer to get you out and about in the quaint villages, splendid plazas, and verdant, undulating landscapes that make western Europe travel so enticing. We offer everything from easy walking trips in Ireland and Italy's famed Amalfi Coast, to kayak explorations of Portugal's port wine region, to strenuous hiking trips in the Alps and the Pyrenees.
