Day 1 : Arrival day
NOTE: This trip can be taken as a 4-day trip (3 nights) or a 5-day trip (4 nights). The below itinerary refers to the 5-day trip; the difference is simply more or less time in Denali National Park. Weeklong stays can also be arranged—call for details!
After meeting our driver and guides mid-day at the Denali National Park train depot, we'll head to Camp Denali, stopping en route for a picnic supper (the day's main meal) around 4:00 p.m.
-
Days 2 - 4 : While you are at Camp Denali
Staying inside Denali National Park is a treat! Each day, you'll choose from a number of guided activities, including three levels of difficulty: an easier naturalist foray, a moderate, or strenuous outing. You'll take advantage of all this natural wonderland has to offer: borrow the camp's mountain bikes, take canoes out from the north end of Wonder Lake, just 3 miles away, or use the camp's fishing gear any time during your stay.
Each day after breakfast, a lunch buffet will be presented with fresh breads and variety of choices for you to create your pack lunch for the day. Then head out of camp by 9-10:00 a.m. each day to enjoy a full day in the heart of Denali National Park. Guided activity options return in the mid- or late-afternoon, with dinner at 6:30 p.m. Then enjoy a program in the lodge to learn about this wilderness' wildlife, conservation efforts, and stories.
Camp Denali is an authorized National Park Service Concessionaire. Also designated as Denali National Park's sole historic operator of educational guided hiking and field trips, this 60-year family owned and operated business continues its tradition of active exploration beyond its own spectacular area around Wonder Lake. That means you can explore more of the Park's remote alpine valleys and lofty ridges and enhance your opportunities for wildlife sightings.
