    Day 1 : Buenos Aires

Arrive in Buenos Aires, Argentina. You will be met at the international airport and transferred to the hotel.

Please be sure to schedule your international flight so that you arrive in Buenos Aires in the morning. Upon your arrival at Buenos
Aires' Ezeiza Airport you'll be met by a representative outside the customs and immigration area at the airport and escort you to your hotel.  Once you've settled in you'll depart for an afternoon tour of the city, including visits to La Boca, San Telmo (antiques market), Costanera Sur (docks by the river), the Plaza de Mayo (Government House), and the Recoleta district in the northwest sector of the city, famous mainly for its nightlife but also well worth a visit by day. Close by are the National Cemetery with the tombs of many famous people (among them Eva Peron) and the Museum of Fine Arts. The downtown district, especially along Calle Florida, contains many galerias (huge enclosed shopping malls) with dozens of stores and colorful stands. Dinner tonight will be on your own—Buenos Aires has no lack of enticing culinary options.

Day 2 : Nahuel Huapi National Park

Early morning transfer to airport for flight to Bariloche. Upon arrival, you will be drop off at El Casco Art Hotel located on the shore of Nhuel Huapi Lake.

San Carlos de Bariloche is located in the western area of the Province of Río Negro, Bariloche is in the heart of the Nahuel Huapi National Park. Lying on the southern shore of the lake after which the park is named, it is the perfect combination between the speed of the city and the quietness of nature. This tourist city has a hotel and gastronomic infrastructure that was first developed over eight decades ago. Since then, Bariloche has turned into one of the main tourist destinations in Argentina. The facilities designed by man, as well as the beauty offered by the natural environment, mingle in perfect harmony to satisfy the visitor. Activities in the Lake District seduce visitors all year round. During the summer, adventure is protagonists: rafting, hiking, mountain biking, horse riding and fly fishing excursions or multi-day trekking. In winter, snow sports enter the scene. Lake excursions ranging from big boats to private yachts provide access to spots that are unique in the world.

After a good rest, your guide will pick you up and take you trekking the Cerro Llao Llao (Mount Llao Llao), possibly one of the most photographed regions in all of Argentina, known for its spectacular setting of crystalline lakes and mountains. The hike to the top of Mount Llao Llao is an easy walk that takes us through a beautiful forest to strategic panoramic points that will allow us to enjoy and take pictures of amazing views. It takes approximately 2 hours to complete this hike, involving some brief uphill sections. (elevation gain 600') This serves as a great way to stretch our legs and in our opinion is one of the most enjoyable and stunning hikes in the lake district.

Day 3 : Climb to Bella Vista

This morning your guide will meet you an to take you up to El Tambo start of the trail. We start off at a slow pace, to warm up, an after 15 minutes we’ll make the first stop to check on clothing and to hydrate. Today´s hike is an ascent of Bella Vista Hill. The adventure commences through the woods, following a trail surrounded by thick vegetation. The ascent is slow up to the first lookout. From there we steadily continue ascending until reaching the second part of the trail, where we will be surrounded by high Lengas and colorful Amancay. When we reach 5200' the vegetation starts yielding the center stage to fresh air and unmatchable panoramic views. After a 3 hour walk, we reach the pre-summit. The views do justice to the hill’s name, guaranteeing postcard-like pictures. Relaxation and lunch time are spent over a hearty “picada” prepared high in the mountain; food for your body and your spirit. We will remain at this place for about 4 hours, enjoying the scenery and relaxing; the way back will take us about two and a half hours through the same trail.

Day 4 : Kayak Nahuel Huapi Lake

Kayaking allows us to reach the most remote and virgin areas in nature, experiencing the Andes from another angle and explore new sensations.  We’ll explore deep-blue glacier lakes and shores up close from the seat of sturdy 2-person kayaks accompanied by a local kayak guide. We meet at the hotel at 9:30am and make our way to Bahia López 7 where we will have our safety and security talk. We will sail down the waters of lakes Nahuel Huapi and Moreno, discovering its shores and crystal clear water.  After tow or three hours of gentle paddling on the Moreno lake, we will disembark at oneof its beaches and return to the hotel. (NOTE: the paddling is easy and no previous experience is needed). During the half day of paddling we’ll take plenty of stops for breaks, snacks, a long lunch, and maybe a walk on a beach. We’ll be back at the hotel around mid or late afternoon, in time for you to relax and enjoy the sunset.  Dinner tonight is at Los Juncos Restaurant.

  • Day 5 : To Los Alerces National Park

After departing from El Casco Art Hotel in Bariloche we will head south on route 40 towards the Lago Verde Lodge, to Esquel and Los Alerces National park. We’ll stop in the town of El Bolsón, known for its artisan market, local breweries and bohemian community, and have lunch at a local restaurant (not included in the land cost)

In 1984, with the purpose of protecting this privileged natural environment, El Bolsón was declared Non-Nuclear Zone and Ecological Municipality committed to the preservation of the environment. Continue on the road through the valle of Cholila to Lago Verde Lodge. The day will be a 7-8 hr day with about 5 hours of total driving.

The Lago Verde Lodge is located on the shores of the Lake Verde in Los Alerces National Park. The Lago Verde project has been planned to attract nature lovers from all over the world as a place to plentifully enjoy Patagonian beauty and hospitality. The 4 luxurious bungalows of the resort are decorated with ethnic touches and have magnificent views of the forest and lake. You will enjoy natural gourmet food, with local aromas and flavors of "Los Alerces" district. Meals can be served in restaurant or can be delivered to the bungalows for a private candle-lit dinner. The Lake Verde Project and the cabins have been constructed following the sustainable development concept, adhering to strict environmental rules which protect the environment, reflecting their love for nature.

This charming park comprises an area of 263.000 hectares and was founded in 1937 to protect some of the oldest trees on Earth: the alerce, or lahuan. The park has many lakes, long rivers, crystal water brooks and forests of maitenes, coihues cipreses, arrayanes and notros trees. Different species of birds, mammals, trees and plants are part of a unique environment in one of the few virginal forests remaining in the world. Cormorants, owls, chucaos, kaikenes, avutardas, foxes, pudúes, coipos, deer and many animal species find shelter and nourishment here. Among the endangered fauna species sheltered in this National Park, you can find the huemul, (south andean deer), pudú (world´s smallest deer), araucana pigeon and huiña cat (only found in Argentina). The primitive cultures that lived in this region left their traces of cave art at two sites in the park. There are walking, horseback riding, and cycling trails. There is beautiful day navigation to the famous Alerzal (forest of Alerce trees) on the north branch of Lake Menéndez.

Afternoon activities at Lago Verde Lodge (such as hiking, horseback riding , kayaking)
