Day Hikes from a Comfortable Permanent Camp in Havasu Canyon
The Grand Canyon is one of the world’s most extraordinary natural wonders. On this adventure you’ll encounter its ever-evolving landscape on foot, from the tumbling waterfalls and heavenly turquoise pools in the depths of Havasu Canyon (the “gem” of the Grand Canyon) to the steep red limestone canyon walls with the Tonto Bench hidden in the cliffs—with spectacular views of the North Rim and the waterfalls below! Expert naturalist guides introduce you to the canyon while fostering an in-depth look at this amazing country.
You’ll learn about its incredible natural history, from geological controversies to the use of medicinal plants, and its human history, including historical facts, local legends, and the enduring culture of the local Havasupai, who have lived here for more than 700 years. While in the Canyon, you’ll stay at a comfortable permanent camp (exclusive to our group) on the banks of Havasu Creek on the Havasupai Reservation, the perfect spot to unwind after a day of exploration in one of the “grandest” places on earth.
