Join us on this historic "Conquest of Everest 60th Anniversary Diamond Jubilee Trek" with Jamling Tenzing Norgay!
This will be an Everest Base Camp Trek like no other. Led by Jamling Tenzing Norgay, son of the legendary Tenzing Norgay Sherpa, the first Sherpa to summit Everest with Sir Edmund Hillary in 1953. Jamling summited Everest himself in 1996. It was an important stepping stone in his life--not the summit--but more of a beginning which freed him from his ambitions and launched him onto a path of mindfulness and understanding. This trip, which follows the classic Everest Base Camp trekking route starting in Lukla, will be as much a cultural immersion and historic pilgrimage as a trekking trip. If you yearn for a bit more on your trekking trip to Everest, join us for this once-in-a-lifetime historic experience.

Jamling Tenzing Norgay
In 1996 Jamling Tenzing Norgay realized his childhood dream of climbing Mt. Everest with the IMAX Everest Film Expedition and unfolded the Tibetan flag on the summit. The son of Tenzing Norgay, who summitted Everest in 1953 with Sir Edmund Hillary, Jamling is a charming young man gifted with many skills besides his outdoor exploits. A black-belt karate instructor and avid rafter and skier, Jamling had led many treks in Sikkim, Nepal, India and Bhutan. We are very proud of his association with Mountain Travel Sobek and are confident you will greatly enjoy his leadership. He was featured in a recent article in the San Francisco Examiner and is one of the protagonists of the new National Geographic Imax film on Everest.
