Madagascar delights with its intoxicating natural beauty, diverse species of exotic wildlife, and unique plants. Much like the Galápagos, Madagascar’s isolation for more than 88 million years has filled the island nation with an abundance of plants and animals that can only be found there—in fact, 90 percent of its species are endemic. This includes over 70 different species of lemur and six of the world’s eight species of baobab tree! MTS has designed this unique and totally exclusive itinerary for active nature lovers who not only want to take time to appreciate the island’s many lemurs, mongoose, rare orchids, and beautiful baobabs, but who also have an appetite for adventure. By boat, 4WD vehicles and by foot, you’ll have the chance to explore four of Madagascar’s most famous national parks—Andasibe, Mantadia, Amber Mountain and Ankarana—as well as the sacred hills of Antananarivo and the coral reefs of Nosy Be. With boutique hotels, small beach resorts and deluxe eco-lodges to greet you at the end of the day, you’ll taste a slice of heaven you never knew existed.
