Our unique itinerary offers the classic Kenya experience and more- mobile tented camps and luxurious eco-lodges, morning and evening game drives, a two-day walking safari, and the chance to observe Africa’s famous wildlife up close. You’ll explore beautiful Crescent Island on Lake Naivasha by foot, and discover the bounty of the Masai Mara where your Maasai guides will share their boundless knowledge of the landscape. Day 1: Arrive in Nairobi

On arrival at the Jomo Kenya international Airport, you will be met by an MTS representative and given a short safari briefing before being transferred to the trendy Eka Hotel for your first night in Nairobi.

Day 2: Lake Naivasha, Crescent Island & Lake Elementaita

After breakfast we'll depart for Lake Naivasha and enjoy a boat ride to Crescent Island, where a morning of excellent game viewing on foot awaits. The island is one of Kenya’s smaller but most beautiful parks with an abundance of bird and wildlife including herds of gazelle, zebra, wildebeest, waterbuck, buffalo and giraffe. The park is secure as it is patrolled by guides who will be happy to accompany any visitors on guided bush walks around the Island. This is a great way to explore some of Kenya’s wildlife species from up-close.

Enjoy a sumptuous lunch on the lush green lawns of Lake Naivasha Country Club, before continuing your drive to Lake Elementaita, a soda ash lake playing host to tens of thousands of flamingos, located on the famous Great Rift Valley. This small but beautiful lake offers you the chance to relax or choose from a number of optional activities such as bird viewing or a visit to the natural warm spa that flows into the lake. Overnight at picturesque Sunbird Lodge.

Day 3: Lake Nakuru

Today is an exciting day as you will have the opportunity to witness one Africa's most spectacular animals, the rhino. Lake Nakuru National park offers the largest concentrations of wild rhino (both black and white) in Kenya. Other species commonly found in the area are waterbuck, Rothschild’s giraffes, giant pythons, as well as chance encounters with lions and leopards. Enjoy a picnic lunch at a lovely spot overlooking the lake before returning to Sunbird Lodge in time for sundowners and a well-deserved meal.

Day 4: Hell's Gate National Park

Today, we'll head to Hell’s Gate National Park for an adventure-packed morning. Your morning is spent bike riding through the park amongst giraffes, zebras, buffalos and various other plains game! Located between Lake Naivasha, Mt. Logonot and the Suswa Volcanoes, Hell’s Gate is a tiny park offering a wide array of wildlife, unusual flora and many species of birds. While the park is home to zebra, giraffe, buffalo and warthog, visitors are allowed to hop out of their safari vehicles to get a closer look at the park’s famous geothermal station, hot springs, lower gorge and scenic landscapes on foot or on a bicycle. After a gorge walk, sit down to a picnic lunch before returning to your lodge for an afternoon of leisure relaxing by the pool with a good book, or enjoying the view from the deck of your room. Enjoy a sumptuous dinner before an early night after an action-filled day.

Day 5: Fly to Loita Hills

After breakfast, you will be transferred to the airstrip for your flight to the Mara departing at 10:30am to arrive at Siana Airstrip at 11:15am. You will be met on arrival and transferred to Jan’s camp (approximately 4.5 hours drive with game viewing on route) for lunch, dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Oltyiani Trail

After breakfast the donkey’s are brought and the equipment is packed. Leave around 10.00am, lunch break around 12.30pm for an hour and arrive in the camp around 4-5pm. The morning and afternoon walks are both around 3 hours long. Overnight Oltyiani trail camp.

Day 7: Oltyiani Trail

Leave at 9am from camp and walk slowly back to Jan’s Camp through the lush Loita Forest.

Day 8: Drive to Masai Mara

From Jan’s Camp you will be transferred out of the Loitas to Speke’s Camp. The journey is spectacular, with approximately 5 to 6 hours game driving through the Masai Mara with a packed lunch on route! Arrive in time for afternoon tea and enjoy watching the game which comes right upto the tents at this unique intimate camp.

Days 9-10: Masai Mara

These days you will enjoy game drives and safari activities in the epic Masai Mara.

Day 11: Fly to Nairobi & Depart

After breakfast, you will be transferred to the airstrip for your flight back to Nairobi. On arrival at Wilson Airport, you will be transferred to House of Waine where you have day use of a room and lunch. This afternoon, there is the option of visiting the Giraffe Center where you have a unique opportunity to “kiss a giraffe” and then at 5pm, enjoy the magical experience at the David Sheldrick Wildlife trust, where you will get up close to the baby orphaned elephants and have a chance to watch then having their evening milk and getting settled for the night. After this, you will be transferred back to House of Waine to freshen up before being taken to the Talisman restaurant for dinner and on to the international airport for your departure flight home.

Eka Hotel — Nairobi

A stylish, contemporary hotel in Kenya's capital city, Eka Hotel is ideally located on Mombasa Road, just minutes away from the airport. Rooms come equipped with modern amenities such as LCD flat screen TVs, complimentary Wi-Fi, minibars, hair dryers and rain showers. The hotel offers two restaurants and a bar, and the accommodating staff is efficient and friendly.

Jan's Camp — Loita Hills

Located in the Loita Hills, Jan's Campis an excellent base for walking safaris. The camp is set on a ridge overlooking the rolling hills of the Loita Naimina Enkyio Forest, the Forest of the Lost Child. There are three huts on the property, each accommodating two people and each featuring private bathroom facilities. Observe local wildlife such as zebra, monkeys, various birds and wildebeasts, and enjoy getting to know this unique landscape and the rich culture of the local Maasai people.

Oltyiani Trail Camp — Loita Hills

Our specialist walking safari guides and staff have spent the last 10 years leading walks through the forest, and MTS takes great pride in setting up light but comfortable camps in some of the remotest parts of the Loita Forest. The camping party will clear the ground. A small thorn kraal (enclosed area) is made for the donkeys and fires are lit, tents set up and the kitchen prepared for your arrival.

Speke — Masai Mara

Speke's Camp is a traditional safari camp on the eastern bank of the Olare Orok River in between the northern boundary of the Maasai Mara National Reserve and the Mara North Conservancy. The land is leased from the resident Maasai people living nearby. Speke's Camp's policy is not to build permanent camps within the Reserve in line with the owners' aim to make a difference for the Maasai people and their own environment. This charming bush camp is an excellent base for exploring the Masai Mara, and the eight guest tents are luxuriously equipped with comfortable beds, pendant lights, rugs and en-suite bathrooms.

Sunbird Lodge — Lake Elementaita

Set on 55 acres of private land between Nakuru and Gilgil, Sunbird Lodge is named after one of the more than 450 species of birds in this area. Beautifully nestled in a pristine environment above Lake Elementaita (a RAMSAR and a UNESCO World Heritage Site) one can experience amazing sunsets in a wonderfully picturesuq and remote setting. The intimate lodge features 14 spacious en-suite cottages, each with huge glass sliding doors, a private veranda, king-size bed and shower. Plus, the service from the staff is friendly and efficient while the food is fantastic and healthy. Enjoy the unspoiled views over Lake Elementaita and Soysambu Conservancy at the beautiful Sunbird Lodge.
