Namibia is a fantastic choice for a grand, old-fashioned African adventure. Not only is it teeming with wildlife in its rich national parks, but between the towering red sand dunes and the misty coastlines of shipwreck lore, the scenery is also some of the most beautiful in all of Africa. And with a population of just about two million in a space bigger than Texas, Namibia has one of the lowest population densities on the planet. That said, the only thing small about this country is its population. Everything else, from its otherworldly landscapes to its thrilling adventure activities, is larger than life. This is a country where you can track cheetah and desert-adapted elephant on foot, sea kayak with Cape fur seals, hike some of the world's highest sand dunes, interact with the last traditional nomadic people in Southern Africa, the Himba, and see the last remaining desert black rhino in the world. Namibia is also home to ancient San bushman rock engravings at famed Twyfelfontein, a UNESCO-listed site that has been inhabited for over 6,000 years!
At MTS we offer a Namibia tour that shows you the best of this outstandingly diverse country. From hiking the dunescapes of Sossusvlei to tracking cheetah and leopard with the AfriCat Foundation to visiting with nomadic tribes in hard-to-access Damaraland, this trip offers a well-rounded introduction to this fascinating country that includes travel with one of Namibia's most respected naturalist guides. We are also honored to be working closely with the Conservation Travel Foundation in Namibia to help protect the country’s people and wildlife.
