Visit Sharjah, walk the golden sands of the Hajar Mountains, cruise the fjords of Musandam Peninsula, ride into the Hatta Mountains by 4x4, and wander beneath shading palms of the oasis at Al Ain. Day 1: Arrive Dubai, United Arab Emirates

Arrive in the fascinating city of Dubai! An MTS representative will meet you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel to unwind and relax after a long flight. Dubai is a haven for shopping and fine dining, and its incredible architecture will leave you in awe. Your first afternoon and evening are free to explore at your leisure.

Day 2: Old Dubai

We’ll begin the day with a private, half-day, guided tour of Dubai, including a visit to the famous Sheikh Mohammed Center for Cultural Understanding (SMCCU). Dubai is one of the Middle East’s leading tourists destinations, and the city if full of splendid paradoxes that often mix the new with the old. Our day begins with a visit to Jumeirah Mosque, a city landmark and one of the city’s most beautiful neighborhoods. From there, we’ll drive through some of Dubai's oldest neighborhoods to see how the local community lives and what their daily lives are like, while visiting little-known city sights. From there, we’ll drive through to Dubai’s main trade district for an incredible walking tour of the Dubai's back streets, where you will be able to experience the everyday hustle and bustle of Dubai. Along the way, we’ll visit the city’s famous gold and spice souqs—two absolute must-sees on any visit to the city, followed by a trip across the creek to the Dubai Museum and the Bastakiya District. This afternoon, we’ll transfer back to the hotel, and the rest of the day is yours to relax or do more exploring on your own.

Day 3: Sharjah

We’ll journey out of Dubai today to explore the city of Sharjah on a private, half-day guided tour. Sharjah is an exciting, lively city with colorful souqs (markets) filled with interesting artifacts in every corner. The combination of traditionally styled homes with walls of sea coral and the bright colors of the souqs lends an air of magic to the city. We’ll visit the local museum at the 18th-century Fort of Ajman, before stopping in at the Al Markazi Souq, where the skills of the gold jewelers are on full display. We’ll also see impressive craftsmanship in the renovated Heritage Area. After enjoying a little time to shop, we’ll transfer back to the hotel in Dubai for an afternoon of leisure.

Day 4: Mussandam Peninsula & Fujairah

After checking out of our hotel, we’ll enjoy a scenic ride to Dibba, passing beautiful golden dunes and the magnificent Hajar Mountains along the way. Around mid-morning, we’ll arrive Dibba, where we’ll board a full day dhow cruise to explore the exquisite Musandam Peninsula—a geographic extension of the UAE, although technically part of Oman. Dhows are traditional sailing vessels most commonly found in the Red Sea and the Indian Ocean, and they make for pleasant and leisurely touring. Enjoy your time lazing and sunbathing while, feasting your eyes upon the beauty of the white salty mountains. Our boat will pass picturesque, naturally carved caves, the deserted village of Haffa village and Zighy Beach. Take a thrilling plunge or snorkel down the crystal clear waters of the Indian Ocean while the crew prepares a traditional Arabic lunch. Upon returning back to port, we’ll transfer to our hotel in Fujairah on the Gulf of Oman.

Day 5: Hatta Mountains

This morning, we’ll check out of our hotel in Fujairah and board a private 4x4 vehicle for an off-road wadi-bashing trip to Hatta. Wadis are dried riverbeds, and you’ll enjoy the exhilaration of following them up into the high, rocky country of Dubai into the majestic Hajar Mountains. After lunch at the charming Hatta Fort Hotel, we’ll visit Hatta’s Heritage Village, an enclave of reconstructed traditional mountain dwellings for us to explore. Overnight in Hatta.

Day 6: Al Ain

After checkout this morning, we’ll head to Al Ain, “the Garden City,” for a private tour of this charming desert oasis. Al Ain is the second-largest city of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and has been a stop on the caravan trail since at least the 4th millennium BC. Today, Al Ain is one of the most important agricultural centers of the Emirates, is a university city, and the birthplace of the first president of the UAE. The oases (Jimi and Hili) provide a shaded walk through palm groves, giving each visitor a pleasant respite from the sun. We will visit the Al Ain Palace Museum, the residence of the late ruler Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, whose collection of family portraits offers an insight into the way the Royal Family lived and entertained their guests. Before heading to our hotel, we’ll have a chance to stop at the camel market and witness buyers and sellers haggling. Overnight in Al Ain.

Day 7: Empty Quarter (Liwa Oasis)

This morning a private car will bring us to the famous desert resort of Qasr Al Sarab, surrounded by a breathtaking sea of sand dunes—the largest uninterrupted sand desert in the world! In addition to basking in the resort’s highly modern and luxurious accommodations, we’ll have a chance to choose from the resort’s many activities, including archery, swimming, tennis, hiking and camel treks (to name a few). Overnight in Qasr Al Sarab.

Day 8: Abu Dhabi

Today, we’ll journey into Abu Dhabi, the capital and most well known of the United Arab Emirates. Be captured by the wonder of the breathtakingly beautiful Sheik Zayed Grand Mosque—the third largest mosque in the world—which adds an air of majesty to Abu Dhabi’s already dynamic skyline. We then visit the Cultural Foundation at the heart of the city, next to the famous Union Square, which gathers symbolic themes inspired by the customs of the country. After a drive along the scenic Corniche, we will visit the Heritage Village, specially designed by the late Sheikh Zayed Ben Sultan al Nahyan as reminder of the past for the younger generation. We’ll check-in to our hotel in Abu Dhabi for the night.

Day 9: Modern Dubai

On our last day in the UAE, we’ll enjoy a private guided tour of modern Dubai, including a visit to Burj Khalifa At the Top (the tallest manmade structure in the world) and afternoon tea at the luxurious Burj Al Arab Hotel. The fastest growing city in the world will charm you with its impressive skyline and most luxurious hotels ever built. Dubai offers visitors a diverse experience, from the unforgettable charm of traditional souqs to gravity-defying skyscrapers. To tour the Burj Khalifa, we’ll enter the Dubai Mall—the largest shopping mall in the world—and begin our ascent to the observation deck in a high-speed elevator, traveling at 10 meters per second. As the doors open, floor-to-ceiling glass walls provide a breathtaking, unobstructed 360-degree view of the city, desert and ocean. You’ll also visit the world-class aquarium and get face-to-face with aquatic creatures high above their natural habitats. 

After visiting the Burj Khalifa, we’ll drive towards Dubai’s Marina District, an exclusive neighborhood and home of the world’s largest manmade island, The Palm Jumeirah. We stop for a photo op across from the luxurious Atlantis Palm Hotel, a magnificent tribute to the mythological land of Atlantis, complete with sunken aquatic chambers, submerged ruins, and exhilarating water rides. We’ll end the afternoon with high tea at the world’s only 7-star hotel, the famous Burj Al Arab. Designed to resemble a billowing sail, the hotel soars to a height of 321 meters (1053 feet), dominating the Dubai Jumeirah skyline. Illuminated at night by choreographed light installations representing water and fire, Burj Al Arab is nothing short of impressive! We’ll then transfer to our hotel for our final night in the UAE.

After a leisurely breakfast, we’ll bid farewell to this enchanted land and transfer to the Dubai Airport for your flight home.
