Pura Vida. Literally translated, it means "Pure Life," and that's what abounds in one of our perennial favorite destinations—Costa Rica. Home to a vast array of wildlife and wild adventure experiences, this jewel of Central America never fails to impress.
Mountain Travel Sobek program directors are always on the lookout for cool new trips to share with our guests, and there will be plenty to look forward to in 2018. One that we're particularly excited about is "Cycling the Country Roads of Eastern Europe," a 345-mile back roads biking journey through Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Macedonia, and Montenegro...
"We returned in late August from our MTS Australian Custom Journey for my wife May’s 50th birthday. Our trip was epic in so many ways, and we wanted to share our photo gallery and a few trip notes! Special kudos to our guide Tiff at Sal Salis on the Ningaloo Reef and to Calandra, our top-deck/VIP host on the Great Barrier Reef live aboard."
Today is Endangered Species Day, and while "celebration" seems not quite the right word to use when discussing the prospect of entire species disappearing from our planet forever, it's certainly easy to celebrate the amazing animals that ride this Earth with us.
Our photo of the week comes from MTS guests Nora and Bill Leeder, who just returned from our Machu Picchu Inn-to-Inn trek. Here they are enjoying themselves at beautiful Humanity Glacial Lake. In Nora's own words, "We had the best time & absolutely loved Peru! Thank you again & Mtn. Travel Sobek for making our trip fantastic in every way!"
