Frequently Asked Questions

Got questions about MT Sobek? We’ve got answers!

What is the class of accommodations on MT Sobek trips?

Where else to stay when visiting the Grand Canyon but perched on the North Rim of this natural wonder? How better to appreciate the fjords of Norway than to slumber in a brightly colored fisherman’s cottage by the water’s edge? Or to spot the “Big Five” from your luxury safari camp’s private veranda? We seek out small boutique hotels and lodges that treat you to the “must-have” experiences of the region. Browse the class of accommodations that fit your traveler’s needs.

Can my clients upgrade or change accommodations?

Our accommodations have been carefully selected for both their comfort and convenience for each day’s planned activities. On our scheduled group trips, it is not possible for your clients to upgrade or change lodging. However, our private and custom trips can be planned to suit your clients’ accommodation preferences. Please speak with your Trip Consultant to discover the options for your clients’ trip.

How should I ensure I am booking the right clients on the right active adventure?

The Trip Consultant assigned to your booking will work closely with you to discuss the entire trip and gather the necessary fitness information. They may provide specific questions for you to ask your clients and share the feedback with them. Sometimes, the Trip Consultant might even want to directly speak with your clients to help determine if this adventure is what they’re looking for.

When will I receive my client’s pre-travel documents for their trip?

Once your clients have booked, they will have access to their guest portal and receive detailed pre-trip information including packing lists, advice on getting in shape, and much more. The final departure information is provided to all guests approximately 2 weeks prior to departure, including details about their Adventure Guides and contact info for all accommodations.

Can I book pre-and post-trip extensions for my clients with MT Sobek?

Once your clients’ trip has been confirmed to run, they are welcome to book their flights as well as any pre-or-post trip extensions. Some of our trips offer suggested extensions that are the perfect way for travelers to further explore the destination. Please contact your Adventure Coordinator for information on options and activities specific to your clients’ trip.

What is the minimum number of guests for a private FIT or private group adventure?

MT Sobek specializes in custom itineraries to almost every destination that we travel to. We do not require a minimum guest count to create a custom trip. However, we do require a minimum spend of $5,000. At this time we do not offer self-guided tours.

What happens if my clients book with MT Sobek directly?
