Following our incredible urban hike in San Francisco, the MT Sobek and Outbound Collective teams are lacing up boots for another summer outing. This time we're tackling the 7-mile Marin Headlands Loop on July 28, 2018. Starting at Rodeo Beach we’ll head north on four great trails: the Coastal Trail, Wolf Ridge Trail, Miwok Trail, and Bobcat Trail. Along the way we’ll enjoy incredible ocean and bay views, explore the Point Bonita Lighthouse and experience remnants of the Cold War at the Nike Missile Site—great for history buffs. Those who want to do the whole loop can, or you can choose to take a shorter loop back on one of the many alternative trails. This free hike is part of our popular series of Bay Area outings, and we look forward to exploring with you.
Start/End: 8:30am-2:30pm July 28, 2018

About Michael O'Connell
Mike grew up in the Sonoran Desert, exposing him to one of the most unique landscapes in the world. Eventually his love for the desert and the outdoors led to a career guiding hikes and climbs in Arizona, the greater Southwest United States, into Montana and Northern California. As a Regional Specialist for MT Sobek, Mike has expanded his world travel to Patagonia, Alaska, Ecuador and the Galapagos, and Southern Africa. In his own words: “More than the act of travel itself, is its capability of transforming the person lucky enough to experience it.” Mike recently co-guided MT Sobek's "Into the Wild" hike as part of the Pursuits Series event at Hunter Mountain in New York.
