Fall is here and we are heading to the beautiful Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area for a free community hike on November 18, 2017. Following expert guide John Baston, we'll take a 6.1-mile loop hike (with a 1686' elevation gain) on the Sandstone Peak and Mishe Mokwa trails reaching the tallest point in the southern section of the coastal range mountains at 3,111 feet. Enjoy sweeping views of the range as you hike on well-maintained trails through California sagebrush and bay laurel. This is a favorite hike of our LA staff, with lots of added opportunities to explore, and is a great way to train for upcoming adventures with fellow hikers. We look forward to hitting the trail with you!
