Day 1: Welcome to Canada

Arrive in Winnipeg, Manitoba, and spend the night close to the airport for tomorrow's charter flight to Churchill.

  • Accommodation:Grand Winnipeg Airport Hotel by Lakeview

Day 2: Fly to Churchill then take a Scenic Flight to the Polar Bear Cabins

Fly to Churchill, where you’ll board a private charter aircraft and take a scenic 40- to 50-minute flight to the polar bear cabins, situated halfway between Churchill, Manitoba, and Arviat, Nunavut, on the Hudson Bay coast—only a few miles south of the mighty Gellini River. On the way it's possible to take aerial photography of the stunning landscape. The camp is strategically situated on a polar bear migration route (also known as "polar bear alley") to enjoy optimal encounters and to photograph the bears while they wait for the surrounding waters to freeze up. Spend unforgettable moments with the bears!

Please note that the flight from Winnipeg to Churchill and back is not included in the trip price.

  • Lunch/Dinner
  • Accommodation:Polar Bear Cabins

Days 3-6: Encounter polar bears and experience the Northern Lights

We’ll spend the next few days observing the Churchill polar bears in the wild and admiring the stunning natural landscapes. Tripods will be set up along the inside of the protective electric fence perimeter, waiting for the perfect close-up shot. Our local Inuit guides will ensure the best opportunities. They know these polar bears intimately after generations of living among them, and will only allow the bears to approach us as close as they deem safe. Our guides will also lead us on daily hikes just outside our complex to explore. Knowing that your guides will keep you out of harm’s way, you’ll be able to approach polar bears up close to photograph them—as close as a 100 feet! While often fearful of humans, there may be a curious polar bear who will come towards us, yet our guides will keep us a safe distance at all times. This is the most authentic, safe and up-close method of viewing polar bears anywhere. Because of the time of year of our Arctic adventure and our location, you will also be able to delight in the magical Aurora Borealis, also known as the Northern Lights. This time of year is the best time to see them, so each evening after sunset, we’ll eagerly wait for the first hints of lights dancing across the sky—an unforgettable display!

  • Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner
  • Accommodation:Polar Bear Cabins

Day 7: Bid farewell to camp and fly back to Winnipeg

Spend some time this morning taking photos or doing a bit of last-minute exploring before we leave camp for our noontime charter flight back to Churchill. From there, we’ll fly back to Winnipeg and overnight near the airport.

  • Breakfast/Lunch
