Meet Your Webinar Host: Amit Sankhala
Amit Sankhala is one of the few people who can say that he experienced a first-hand version of Rudyard Kipling's The Jungle Book. As the grandson of a forest officer and son to a renowned wildlife tour operator, Amit grew up exploring the national parks of India while immersing himself in the study of the landscape's flora and fauna. His passion for discovering rare wildlife brought him to Ladakh almost 10 years ago. During this time, the possibility of seeing snow leopards was very rare. As a result, he proceeded to recruit the best team in the area to track these beautiful cats, and eventually worked on documentaries for Planet Earth and Human Planet. Additionally, Amit has embarked on many expeditions in remote regions of the Himalaya. He has a deep love and respect for the landscape and wildlife of the region, and enjoys sharing it with travelers who venture this far.
