Flashback to 1977: Laura, just 26, ventured on a 30-day trek through the rugged Himalayas with Mountain Travel. As the only woman among six men, this journey marked the beginning of her friendship with guide Kim Schmitz. Now, at 73, Laura is still exploring the world, currently trekking Scotland’s Western Isles with MT Sobek.

Laura’s first adventure was a fearless trek across the icy, challenging terrain of the Himalayas. Fashionably sporting a feather-grey beanie, orange vest, knee-high socks and Adidas running shoes, she conquered over 19,000 feet in 30 days, navigating glaciers and rocky paths.
