We like to begin our spring training for our summer adventures in March and this year we’re heading to San Francisco’s South Bay area for a heart-pumping 8-mile loop hike in Purisima Creek Redwoods. Our hike will take us along the Harkins Ridge Trail and along the redwood-lined Purisima Creek Trail. Starting right off of Skyline Drive we will test our mettle with steep trails and elevation gains and loss of 1,500 feet. Why go? Other than for the great exercise, the preserve has magnificent redwoods and our trek is perfectly timed for wildflower blooms. Later in the day if you still want to explore…you can cruise down to the coast and drive along HWY 1 or drop down into Silicon Valley for a celebratory pint!

Bring your lunch and water! MT Sobek will provide some trail snacks and fruit.
