    Arrive in Cape Town

    Meet an MT Sobek representative at the door of your aircraft who will assist with the immigration, baggage, and customs process. Pair up with your guide and transfer to the hotel. Enjoy a welcome dinner this evening at Chef's Table Cape Town, an exclusive experience hosted by Chef Santi Louzan. This intimate dinner, based on a shared social table concept, is served in a stylish loft where the chef prepares a 7-course wine-paired dinner, introducing each dish and sharing the story of the inspiration behind it.

    Hike to Table Mountain & Tour Cape Town

    Set out for a challenging half-day hike up Table Mountain via the India Venster route. Follow your guide along a rocky trail that snakes up the mountain, enjoying expansive views of its iconic vertical faces along the way. A series of chains and metal rungs are in place to assist with the climb. Be rewarded with magnificent bay vistas at the top! Strong walkers can continue to the highest point at Maclear's Beacon before returning to descend via cable car. Drive through the colorful Bo-Kaap neighborhood to learn about Cape Malay heritage. Stroll through the tree-lined Company's Garden and continue to the Castle of Good Hope, the oldest building in South Africa. This evening, enjoy a fabulous cooking class and dinner at The Chef's Studio, by well-known Chef Matt Manning.

    Explore the Cape Peninsula

    Set off for a guided Cape Point and Peninsula tour starting at the beaches of Clifton and Camps Bay. Join a short cruise from Hout Bay to Seal Island to see the breeding colonies of Cape Fur seals. Drive to the Cape of Good Hope National Reserve via Chapman's Peak and board a cable car to see where the Indian and Atlantic Oceans meet. Head back to Cape Town in the afternoon and stop for a stroll at the acclaimed Kirstenbosch Gardens. Tonight, be prepared to go on a culinary journey at Chef's Table, a boutique and intimate dining experience hosted by Chef Santi Louzán.

    Discover the Legendary Cape Winelands

    Head to Stellenbosch, South Africa's second-oldest town located in the legendary Winelands region. Savor a picnic-style lunch and back at the winery enjoy a wine and chocolate tasting. Head to the picturesque village of Franschhoek for a tasting at the 300-year-old Grande Provence Heritage Wine Estate. Enjoy dinner tonight at Foliage Restaurant, serving upmarket bistro and contemporary farmhouse fare.

    Cycle the Cape Winelands

    Cycle through the beautiful Cape Winelands, with their pastoral landscapes of fertile farmland. Stop at two different wineries for tastings and end the tour with a delicious lunch at a country restaurant. Travel to Paarl at the foot of a cluster of granite domes, then head back to Franschhoek for a relaxed evening and dinner at the stellar Werf Restaurant Boschendal.

    Fly to Hoedspruit & Cycle the Wildlife Estate

    Transfer to Cape Town airport for a flight to Hoedspruit near Kruger National Park. Take a 4x4 to the exclusive boutique guesthouse situated in the Hoedspruit Wildlife Estate. After checking in, head out to explore the wilderness by bicycle. The estate is a 400-hectare residential conservancy home to plains species such as giraffe, antelope, and warthog. This evening at the lodge enjoy braai, a traditional South African barbecue, a dining experience under the African stars.

    Explore the Panorama Route

    Today set out for a scenic drive on the Panorama Route. Stop at the Hoedspruit Endangered Species Centre for a private tour of this unique conservation and rehabilitation facility and then visit the newly built glass elevator at Graskop, with its interactive exhibits and unique vistas. Enjoy lunch at a local farm before returning to Unembeza for a relaxing afternoon.

    Discover Klaserie Private Nature Reserve

    Transfer to Klaserie by 4x4 and explore the 60,000 hectares of this private reserve, established back in 1969 and home to some of the highest density of big game in South Africa, including a wide variety of predators. Enjoy a day of interpretative game drives for close encounters and prolific sightings, particularly of the elusive leopard. Also look out for buffalo, rhino, hippo, giraffe, elephant, baboons, mongooses, a variety of buck, and an array of birdlife.

In the afternoon, choose to hop on another game drive by 4x4 and look out for the Big Five: the African elephant, African lions, Cape buffalo, black rhinos, and African leopards. Come evening, unwind in the lap of luxury back at the camp.

      The majority of South Africa is safe, provided that you take the safety precautions you would in all major countries and big cities.

    • How did the "Big Five" get their name?

      The "Big Five" are leopard, lion, elephant, rhino and buffalo. The term is a reference from colonial trophy hunting. Hunters ranked African animals as to how dangerous they were to hunt.

    • Do I need vaccinations or malaria tablets?

      We recommend you speak to your doctor about vaccinations and malaria tablets well in advance of your safari. At present, certain areas of South Africa are affected by malaria.

    • Do you require a visa for South Africa?

      If you are a U.S. citizen, you do not need a visa to enter South Africa.

    • How fit do I need to be to hike Table Mountain?

      You should feel comfortable hiking for at least 3-hours on steep terrain. But you can ask us about the cable car option if your prefer not to hike.
