Set out for a half-day hiking adventure up Table Mountain, on the India Venster route featuring steep rocky trails, short vertical faces protected by chains and staples, and a series of ledges with brilliant views. Strong walkers can continue to the highest point at Maclear's Beacon before returning to descend via cable car. Drive through the colorful Bo-Kaap neighborhood to learn about Cape Malay heritage. Stroll through the tree-lined Company's Garden and continue to the Castle of Good Hope, the oldest building in South Africa. Savor a picnic-style lunch and back at the winery enjoy a wine and chocolate tasting. Head to the picturesque village of Franschhoek for a tasting at the 300-year-old Grande Provence Heritage Wine Estate. Enjoy dinner tonight at Foliage Restaurant, serving upmarket bistro and contemporary farmhouse fare.
Cycle through the beautiful Cape Winelands, with their pastoral landscapes of fertile farmland. Stop at two different wineries for tastings and end the tour with a delicious lunch at a country restaurant. Travel to Paarl at the foot of a cluster of granite domes, then head back to Franschhoek for a relaxed evening and dinner at the stellar Werf Restaurant Boschendal.
Transfer to Cape Town airport for a flight to Hoedspruit near Kruger National Park. Take a 4x4 to the exclusive boutique guesthouse situated in the Hoedspruit Wildlife Estate. After checking in, head out to explore the wilderness by bicycle. The estate is a 400-hectare residential conservancy home to plains species such as giraffe, antelope, and warthog. This evening at the lodge enjoy braai, a traditional South African barbecue, a dining experience under the African stars.
Today set out for a scenic drive on the Panorama Route. The high escarpment offers spectacular viewpoints over the Lowveld such as God's Window looking onto lush forests, and Lisbon Falls, the highest waterfalls in Mpumalanga. Stop at the Hoedspruit Endangered Species Centre for a private tour of this unique conservation and rehabilitation facility and then visit the newly built glass elevator at Graskop, with its interactive exhibits and unique vistas. Enjoy lunch at a local farm before returning to Unembeza for a relaxing afternoon.
Transfer to Klaserie by 4x4 and explore the 60,000 hectares of this private reserve, established back in 1969 and home to some of the highest density of big game in South Africa, including a wide variety of predators. Enjoy a day of interpretative game drives for close encounters and prolific sightings, particularly of the elusive leopard. Also look out for buffalo, rhino, hippo, giraffe, elephant, baboons, mongooses, a variety of buck, and an array of birdlife.
Take a guided walking safari this morning, to experience the African bush from an entirely different perspective. Smell, touch and feel the wilderness while exploring it on foot. In the afternoon, choose to hop on another game drive by 4x4 and look out for the Big Five: the African elephant, African lions, Cape buffalo, black rhinos, and African leopards. Come evening, unwind in the lap of luxury back at the camp.
