For wildlife enthusiasts, Borneo is paradise, pure and simple. Its amazing range of ecosystems—from lush rainforests to pristine beaches—hosts a panoply of rare and endangered wildlife, including pygmy elephants, orangutans, and even the extremely rare Sumatran rhino! Our expert Borneo guide, Charlie Ryan, has lived among the people and wildlife of Borneo for over three years and is a rich, enthusiastic resource for information about this wild cornucopia. Charlie also happens to be an excellent photographer, and has shared some of his images for this portrait of Borneo. But he’s quick to remind us that no photo ever seems to do Borneo justice…it really has to be experienced firsthand.
