FAQs
Who will meet me at the airport?
You will be met by an MT Sobek representative at Kathmandu's Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) in the Arrivals Hall and transferred to your accommodation, where you have the remainder of the day to relax and recover from your travels.
Do I need a visa for Nepal?
Yes, and you can get a 30-day visa on arrival for $50.
What happens if my mountain flights are delayed?
Flights to and from the Khumbu are commonly delayed or cancelled due to the region's unpredictable weather. If the flight is delayed, lodging and meals at Lukla are at your expense. We do everything possible to obtain replacement reservations or try to book alternate flights when Lukla flights are cancelled but be prepared for delays.
Are there any luggage weight restrictions on the flight to Lukla?
Yes. You can bring 15 kg (33 lb) luggage per person—the total weight of checked and hand-carry luggage combined. It's not possible to pay for overweight luggage.
Do I need to bring a sleeping bag for this trip?
No. We provide clean sleeping bags and liners with a temperature rating of -4F. Hot water bottles are available for extra warmth. We also provide down jackets with hoods—please request these with your Adventure Coordinator in advance. Gear will be distributed on Day 1 of the trip in Kathmandu.
What is the minimum age for this trip?
The standard minimum age for this trip is 18 but check out our private trip options for families and groups with younger guests.
