FAQ

Who will meet me on arrival?

An MT Sobek representative will meet you in the Arrivals Hall of the Geneva Airport (GVA) between 1:30pm and 2pm on Day 1.

Can I shorten hikes, if I'm too tired to finish?

Day-2 can be skipped entirely, although we do not recommend skipping the first acclimation hike. Day-7 can be shortened with the use of an optional cable car (additional fee).

Will we sleep in a mountain hut?

No. On this trip, we stay in comfortable hotels throughout.

Do the glacier crossings require technical skills?

When crossing the glaciers on days 6 and 7, we will be accompanied by IFMGA guides who will provide us with harnesses and crampons for extra safety and stability, but no technical skills are necessary.

Will we have private transfers throughout the tour?

No. Due to the efficiency of Swiss public transportation, we will use a public Swiss bus and cable cars where it makes sense. Private transfers will be provided on days 1, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 8.

Do I need to train for this trip?

We recommend that you arrive to this trip in your best hiking condition. Please be sure your hiking boots are well broken in from hikes leading up to this tour.
