James K.
James was born in Arusha, Tanzania, and has been guiding since 2000. He is passionate about the conservation of biodiversity in African wildlife and has led hundreds of walking safaris through the Serengeti. James speaks many languages, from English and Masaai to the local dialect of Chagga and Kiswahili—the national language of Tanzania. His language skills help him to communicate with people from a broad cultural spectrum and he loves sharing experiences with travelers from around the globe. James is also a qualified Kilimanjaro guide and has assisted summit bids for over a decade.
Joseph N.
Joseph is affectionately known as 'Africa's Smallest Giraffe' by his fellow classmates at the Mweka Wildlife College. He is a passionate conservationist who was one of only four Tanzanians to be offered a UNESCO Grant to study Conservation and Park Management at University of Michigan. After completing his degree, Joseph returned to the Ngorongoro conservation area to work on anti-poaching initiatives. Despite his recognition and promotion, Joseph prefers to share his enthusiasm of the natural world with visitors as a safari guide in Tanzania.

FAQs
Can I book this as a trip instead of as an extension?
This itinerary was designed with the Tanzania Climb Kilimanjaro trip in mind. At this time, it can only be booked as a post-trip extension for that trip.
How can I book this extension now that I've booked on the Tanzania Climb Kilimanjaro trip?
Please give our trip consultants a call to book the extension.
Do I need vaccinations or malaria tablets?
We always recommend you speak to your doctor or a health professional about vaccinations and malaria tablets well in advance of your safari. At present, certain areas of Tanzania are affected by malaria.
Will there be wildlife roaming at camps and lodges?
Many of the areas are not fenced and contain wildlife roaming freely while you are staying in your safari lodges and camps, so remaining cautious is important.
What is a typical day like while on safari?
We suggest an early morning breakfast, followed by a morning game drive. You will spend the afternoon on a game drive, departing the park before sunset, returning to your camp for sundowners and a relaxing dinner.
"This trip was the realization of a dream and exceeded all expectations. The combination of a traditional vehicle safari and a walking safari allowed us to experience this incredible environment on so many levels."
