Your Guides
The best people to immerse you in a destination are the ones who live there, which is why we feature local Adventure Guides on our trips. Here are a few that you might meet on this adventure.
Roman R.
Old enough to have experienced the Czech Republic during communist rule yet young enough to have studied and traveled without the limitations of that time, Roman has a broad perspective on his home country. He became a teacher of History and English, spending his free time hiking in the Alps, Czech Highlands, and Slovak Mountains, or following waterways, tracing the Vltava River from Prague upstream to Cesky Krumlov and hiking around the Alpine lakes. He taught for 13 years before combining his English skills with his love of history and outdoor adventure to become a uniquely experienced guide.
Petr S.
Born in Brno, the second-largest city in the Czech Republic, Petr grew up during the Communist era. He studied English Language and Literature and taught for a short while before becoming a freelance translator and tutor which allowed him the freedom to travel, once the Iron Curtain fell. He has backpacked through Asia, South America, the Middle East, and Europe. In 2005 he began guiding in Central Europe, as well as continuing adventures of his own in that region. He is experienced in hiking, cycling, canoeing, whitewater rafting, horseback riding, and mountain climbing and loves the combination of history, nature, and camaraderie that adventure travel engenders.
