FAQs
Who will meet me on arrival?
On Day 1, an MT Sobek representative will meet you in the arrivals hall of Naples International Airport (NAP). We'll then transfer as a group to our hotel in Vico Equense.
How challenging are the hikes on this trip?
Most experienced hikers will consider this trip to be on the easier side. However, if you are more of a walker, you may feel challenged by 2 - 5 hours on your feet. Additionally, there will be a significant number of stairs to ascend and descend, as most Amalfi Coast trails use multiple flights of paved steps to help negotiate the steep cliffs and hills. Hiking poles are strongly recommended. Come in good physical condition, and expect an active, outdoorsy experience.
How do I train for this trip?
You will ascend and descend hundreds of stairs on this tour, not only on the trails but also within towns. Some exercises to help prepare for this include stair walking, squats and reverse lunges, as well as cardio activities such as walking, biking, running, or swimming.
When is the best time of year to visit the Amalfi Coast?
The best months to visit the Amalfi Coast are April, May, September and October, when the coast is carpeted with flowers and greenery and temperatures are more comfortable than during the peak summer season.
What is the most beautiful hike on the Amalfi Coast?
You are spoiled for choice in this part of the world! Amalfi Coast hikes are incredibly scenic, with panoramic views of beautiful landscapes, colorful villages tumbling down the sides of steep cliffs, and the sparkling sea beyond. The most famous is the Path of the Gods, a moderately challenging route through mountains down to the sea. On this adventure you will hike about 5.5 miles on the Path of the Gods, from Agerola to Positano.
How much time should I spend hiking the Amalfi Coast?
To make the most out of a trip to the Amalfi Coast area, we recommend 9 days. This allows you to enjoy six days hiking spectacular trails, explore ancient Paestum, and visit heralded highlights such as Capri, Sorrento, Ravello, Amalfi and Positano. This is the best way to get an insider feel for the destination.
What is the minimum age for this trip?
The standard minimum age for this trip is 18, but check out our private trip options for families and groups with younger guests.
