New Trips in Europe
1. Italy Dolomites Alta Via Hiking
9 Days | 8 Nights | Level 4
Two legendary high routes, one spectacular journey on the finest stages of Alta Via 1 and Alta Via 2. You’ll trace ancient merchant paths beneath soaring limestone towers, stand at the foot of the Throne of the Gods, and cross ridgelines still marked by WWI’s front line. Each evening, relax in hand-picked four-star boutique hotels.

“The Alta Via Routes, or high routes, are some of the most famous long-distance treks in all of Italy. On this trip, we’ve carefully crafted an itinerary that features highlights and sections of both the Alta Via 1 (AV1), or the “classic high route,” and the AV2, or “high route of legends.” Guests will stay in a few charming hotels strategically located to ensure you aren’t packing and unpacking each day or carrying a heavy bag on the trail. This ensures your ability to wake up refreshed and ready to steep yourself in the majesty of the mountains.”
—Travis Wardell, Program Director for Europe & the Pacific

10 Days | 9 Nights | Level 3/4

“I love this area, my home. I know it well, and I would love to share it with you. We will be crossing the main Massifs of the Picos, hiking to summits and high passes into the next valleys; choosing each day if we want to hike a little more or less, taking on more challenging ascents or easier paths to enjoy the day with less adrenaline.”
—Erik Perez, MT Sobek Guide
3. Spain & Morocco with Premier Lodging
12 Days | 11 Nights | Level 2/3

Guests enjoy gentle-to-moderate hikes and walking tours in some of the most stunningly beautiful locations that Spain and Morocco have to offer, and learn the fascinating and intertwined history of the two countries. Explore white-washed villages, karst landscapes, vineyards, the azure Mediterranean coast, and Granada’s historic Alhambra; then cross the Strait of Gibraltar to Morocco to discover Chefchaouen’s blue Moorish architecture, Rif Mountain trails, ancient Roman ruins, and the labyrinth lanes of Fes medinas. 7. Chile Patagonia Torres del Paine O Circuit
12 Days | 11 Nights | Level 5
Circumnavigate the Paine Massif, a legendary route pioneered by Mountain Travel co-founder Leo Le Bon in the 1980s. MT Sobek still leads the definitive version, with top lodging and camps along the route, porters and baggage transfers, and decades of on-the-ground expertise on this exact terrain. The trip has a pre-trek warm-up hike and layover day to explore the incredible Grey Glacier built in.

“This is the true 360° of the Paine Massif — the lesser-seen trails that get you to the icons everyone dreams of, minus the crowds. Mountain Travel co-founder Leo Le Bon pioneered the full circuit in the 1980s, and we still lead the best version of it: the best lodging options along the route, a top-tier local team with decades of experience on this exact terrain, and porters to carry your overnight gear. It’s Patagonia at its rawest — and nobody knows this route like we do. We handle the details so you can focus on the trek itself: granite spires, glacier-fed lakes, the climb over John Garner Pass, and sunrise at the Towers to finish.”
—Sharman Fox, Program Director for Latin America

We stay at the best lodgings along the trail – all comfortable hotels and coveted wilderness lodgings (no camping!), get an early start each day to avoid the crowds, and include porters so our guests only carry a daypack. Our longtime guides each have over 20 years of experience and are true Torres del Paine experts, ensuring you’re in the best possible hands for this legendary adventure.”

Here, you’ll discover Yosemite-scale granite walls reachable only on foot, unnamed peaks, and a wilderness that is home to 11% of the world’s remaining Alerce trees, some over 3,600 years old.

“MT Sobek was chosen by local conservation leaders to lead the first-ever commercial groups into Chile’s Cochamó and Ventisquero valleys — remote, Yosemite-scale wilderness reachable only on foot. Having personally scouted our route earlier this year, I can assure you this landscape is truly magical. We will hike beneath 3,000-foot granite walls and massive domes, tracing crystal-clear rivers and turquoise lakes. The region also shelters 11% of the world’s remaining Alerce forests—ancient trees that tower over 200 feet and live more than 3,600 years—some of the world’s oldest and largest. This is a Patagonia that few have the chance to experience!”
—Andre Labarca, MT Sobek Guide
10. Guatemala Villages & Volcanoes Hiking
10 Days | 9 Nights | Level 3
Hike through Guatemala’s volcanic highlands and Maya villages. See the sunrise from Tikal’s tallest temple, take an active volcano hike capped with pizza cooked over its lava fields, trek village to village into the Lake Atitlan highlands with a night among Kaqchikel Maya weavers, and explore colonial Antigua’s cobblestone streets.

“Sunrise atop Temple IV at Tikal. Pizza cooked over lava on an active volcano. A 360° panorama from the Indian Nose above Lake Atitlán. This is Guatemala’s Maya heartland, and we take you deep into it — from Tikal’s ancient pyramids and jungle wildlife, to colonial Antigua’s galleries and cobbled streets, to a two-day glamping trek through highland villages where Maya artisans still weave, carve, and cook as their ancestors did. It’s Guatemala’s ancient and modern cultures, side by side — active, immersive, unforgettable.”
—Sharman Fox, Program Director for Latin America
11. Ecuador Galapagos Volcanoes & Islands Land-Based Multi-Adventure
9 Days | 8 Nights | Level 2
A land-based alternative to the classic multi-day cruise. Begin on the mainland hiking in the shadow of Cotopaxi volcano, then island-hop to Isabela and Santa Cruz for snorkeling with sea turtles and reef sharks, kayaking beside sea lions, hikes to Sierra Negra’s steaming crater rim, and close encounters with giant tortoises—all while sleeping at hand-picked boutique coastal lodges instead of aboard ship.

“This itinerary lets guests explore the Galapagos by day and unwind at boutique coastal lodges by night. We fly between islands to skip the rough speedboat crossings, and place travelers beachfront in Puerto Villamil and near the harbor in Puerto Ayora — with time to explore the towns, not just the wildlife. We also include two of the archipelago’s best dayboat excursions: snorkeling amid the lava tubes of Los Tuneles, and North Seymour Island, the best location to see male frigatebirds puff up their red pouches to attract breeding females.”
—Sharman Fox, Program Director for Latin America

12. Utah Escalante & Coyote Gulch Hiking
6 Days | 5 Nights | Level 4

“I spent over ten years guiding trips all across Utah, and these are the hikes I’d choose if I were going back myself. The places most people never get to. This is the Utah I fell in love with almost two decades ago.”

On this trip you’ll experience mountains, glaciers, an abundance of wildlife, and pristine forests while creating a lifetime of memories. I can’t wait for our guests to see it with their own eyes!”
—Christy Hamill, Director of Vertical Operations
14. Arizona Sedona & Grand Canyon Hiking
8 Days | 7 Nights | Level 3
Hike Sedona’s iconic formations and lesser-known red rock gems, woven with visits to ancient Sinagua sites at Tuzigoot and Montezuma Castle and a stop in the revived mining town of Jerome. New Trips in Asia
17. Nepal Gokyo Lakes Trekking
14 Days | 13 Nights | Level 4

“What makes Gokyo so special is that you get the excitement and energy of trekking along the iconic Everest trail before branching off onto a quieter, less-traveled route. The reward is a greater sense of solitude and some of the most spectacular views in the Himalaya. Many trekkers will tell you that the panoramas from the Gokyo Lakes region rival, or even surpass, anything else in the Everest region.”
